PACKAGE DESIGN
My design journey follows a deliberate and holistic approach that starts with a thorough understanding of the product, its target audience, and the brand's essence. I delve into meticulous research and conceptualization, ensuring that each packaging design encapsulates the product's unique features while resonating with the end user.
As Line 6's product offerings grew, I formulated fresh packaging directives aimed at achieving a harmonized in-store display marked by a polished and sophisticated appearance.
In response to the evolving landscape of compliance and legal prerequisites, I orchestrated the development and oversight of a comprehensive packaging checklist comprising essential universal elements necessary for worldwide distribution. This compendium streamlined the design process and facilitated seamless communication of packaging requisites and alterations to junior and contract designers by project managers.
Under my tutelage, the integration of compliance markings within packaging artwork was replaced with universally applicable compliance stickers. This strategic shift not only curtailed packaging waste and rework but also bolstered efficiency, culminating in a more sustainable packaging approach.
Here are some examples of branding guidelines applied to 4 color offset package designs.
Wireless category (green), Amplification category (red), 4x4 Category (grey), etc.
The HELIX® and HX® series stand as Line 6's pinnacle product offerings. In this endeavor, we achieved cost reduction by opting for 4-color offset printing on compact card stock sleeves that enveloped a larger black craft package. This external covering featured a single-color screen.
The ultimate outcome was a presentation that elevated the "unveiling" experience to a higher plane. Through this innovative approach, we achieved a premium aesthetic and tactile sensation, in contrast to the conventional single-color offset printed box.
Flexographic printing finds its application in larger packaging, particularly in the realm of heavy-duty cardboard boxes. While these product boxes aren't intended for prominent retail displays, I was careful to apply appropriate halftone settings to product photography. This attention to detail guarantees the attainment of optimal resolution, a factor that resonates effectively with our offshore suppliers. This approach ensures that our customers continue to enjoy a high-quality "box unveiling" experience that aligns with their expectations.
